Saturday night will bring the annual Christmas Tour of Homesalong with the opening of the Festival of Trees in the
Restored Depot Museum among many holiday activities in Mount Ayr. The 13th annual Christmas Tour of Homes, sponsored by the
Ringgold County Tourism Committee, will be held Saturday featuring three homes and a church. The tour will visit the homes
of Tracey and Rob OLSEN, Gordon and Linda WINKLER and Jodie and Brent WURSTER and the First Baptist Church in Mount Ayr.
One Mount Ayr family has something extra to be thankful for this year, two someones to be exact. Alexander and Nicholas
REYNOLDS, two four-year-olds from Russia, have been adopted by Mike and Linda REYONDS of Mount Ayr.
A former Ringgold county resident will be the incoming president for the year 2002 for the Home Builders
Association of Greater Des Moines. Dennis BRECKENRIDGE, the son of Dean and Kay BRECKENRIDGE of Creston, formerly of
Tingley, will be the association president. He also serves as a board member of the Des Moines Golf and Country Club.
When the University of Northern Iowa's Varsity Men's Glee Club performs their annual Christmas Variety Show Friday and
Saturday, Dec. 7-8, a Mount Ayr student will be taking part. Joshua SMITH, son of James and June SMITH of Mount Ayr,
will take part in the show at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on the University of Northern Iowa
campus.
A total of $220 was earned when a group of Mount ayr Community high school band members provided full service at
Lynn's Texaco and Smith Oil Saturday morning.
Three Mount Ayr Community Raider football players -- Ryan ROE, Nathan WEEDA
and Tony MERCER -- have been named to the KAAN Radio all-star team for the 2001 season.
