A 55-gallon drum will never be looked at in quite the
same way by Mount Ayr Community elementary schools students. That's because Stanley DAHL, a Central College music
instructor, spent a week working with students and faculty in an Iowa Artists in the Schools residency last week.
Ringgold county area residents can now tune into a new NOAA weather radio station broadcasting from Lenox to reach
residents of Adams, Ringgold, Taylor and Union counties. It's just what many residents were seeking a year ago in
April after the class F3 tornado rolled across the county and manufacturing plants and rural residents did not have
any warning of the storm. Ringgold county has not been in range of a weather station.

of Ed and Michelle ROTERT of Mount Ayr,was installed as Worthy Advisor of Mount Ayr Assembly #160.
Tingley Friendship
Meal Site celebrated their 28th anniversary of food, fun and fellowship on Monday, March 11. "Put On A Happy Face" was
used to plan the event, since so much happiness results because of the meal site.
New red, white and blue U.S. Bank
signs will replace the green Firstar Bank signs in Iowa, including at the banks in Mount Ayr and Diagonal, today
(Thursday). The new U.S. Bank signage is the result of the merger of Firstar Corporation and U. S. Bancorp, which
was completed on February 27, 2001.
Two Mount Ayr Community Raider boys basketball players have been recognized for
their efforts on the all western Iowa boys basketball team in the Omaha World-Herald. Austin ADAMS and Ryan ROE
both received honorable mention on the squad named recently.
