Progress is being made on the new industrial shell building for Mount Ayr, according to Leroy BLESSMAN, president of the
Ringgold County Development Corporation. The site for the building, just north of Mid-American Machine Products in the
industrial park, has been prpared and is ready for the building.
Contract to two companies were let June 22 by the Kellerton city council for a new sewage collection and treatment lagoon
system. H.J. Miller Construction Company of Omaha, NE was awarded a contract for approximately $407,000 for the construction
of a collection system in town. Oberdahl Construction of Minneapolis, MN received the contract for construction of
the lagoon and the outfall line with a bid of about $29,000. Construction of the lagoon is expected to begin June 27 and
be completed this week.
The Mount Ayr American Legion, Ringgold Post No. 172, is anticipating a new home in the near future. The Legion Post
plans to construct a new home on land recently purchased south of the Mount Ayr Manufacturing Company.
Jolaine MANN, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert BAUGE of Iowa Falls, and the late Neil D. MANN, became the bride of
Jeffrey MONAGHAN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Burel DICKERSON of Mount Ayr, on June 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Church of the
Open Bible in Iowa Falls.
Pamela Joan HENRY and Mark Daniel WALL, both of Marion, were united in the holy sacrament of matrimony at 4 p.m.
Saturday, June 25, at a nuptial mass held in the Immaculate Conception Church in Maloy.
Sharon Kay PEDERSON and William J. HALEY were united in marriage at 2 p.m. April 23 at the South Presbyterian Church in
Denver, CO. Sharon is the daughter of Berneeta PEDERSON of Mount Ayr and Arthur PEDERSEN of Clarinda.
A candlelight ceremony was the setting for the wedding of Betty Jane STEPHENS of Diagonal to William Walter ROBINSON of
Creston on Saturday morning, June 18, 1977. Betty is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Velmer STEPHENS and Bill is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert ROBINSON of Creston. They exchanged vows at 10 a.m. in the United Methodist Church in
Diagona.
