One of the methods of transportation to the 1994 MACHS prom was a horse and buggy that brought Brad POPPE, Karen ELMER,
Tony TRULLINGER and Kim GREGG to the high school. Couples were met at the door to the gym by valet parking attendants
and walked down a red carpet into the gymnasium. Theme for the prom was "When I Fall In Love." After prom activities
had the festive ari of mardi Gras at the American Legion Hall.
Three MACHS juniors were inducted into the Parnassus Chapter of the National Honor Society Monday night. Inducted
were Julian GALLOWAY, Elisa JONES and Amy VARDAMAN.
An Eagle Scout project by an Indiana Boy Scout is helping the Diagonal Community elementary school library. Bill OSMULSKI,
14, an eighth graders at Munster, IN, brought over 4,000 books - a pickup and a U-Haul full.
Kristy MOE, daughter of Mel and Becky MOE of Mount Ayr, was named to the Des Moines Register's southwest Iowa
Academic All-State team.
Julie Ann SICKELS and Kelly Ray WOOLLUMS were married Dec. 31, 1993 in a ceremony held at the Mount Ayr First Christian Church.
Bill and Laveta LYNCH will observe their 50th wedding anniversary with a card shower. The couple was married May 8,
1944 in Troy, KS.
A new swing set, glider and sandbox have been donated to the Tingley city park by R. R. ROUSH who grew up in Tingley.
Continuing their winning streak, the MACHS Raiderrette golfers won again this week. Teena SHIELDS led the way to win over
East Union, shooting a 48 to take medalist honors. Megan McFARLAND was medalist for the Raiderettes against Central
Decatur with a 48.
