Mount Ayr Community high school's
Raider cross country qualified for the state meet by placing third in the Class 1A district meet in Ottumwa Thursday.
Members of the team include Brian ENGLAND, Mark CRAIN, Nick JOHNSON, Luke STILL, Matthew WEEDA, Jason WILKEY and William
SNOOK. CRAIN will be replacing Brian FOOKEN from the district meet squad.
[I]n elections planned Tuesday, Nov. 6. . . . Maloy residents will be voting on cutting back the number of council
members from five to three in the election.
A new lake manager has been working at Sun Valley Lake near Ellston since mid-September.
Traer JOHNSON is a graduate of William Penn College in Oskaloosa with a degree in biology and environmental studies
and minors in earth science and art.
Teri KRAMER ROKUSEK, a 1981 graduate of Mount Ayr Community high school and now
a resident of Reinbeck, has been chosen as a torch bearer for the Winter Olympics when it comes through the
Omaha/Council Bluffs area on January 10 or 11.
