A number of activities with a
historical theme were part of the Ringgold County Fair this year. Hands on activities were available for people of
all ages when the Journey Back in Time exhibit visited the Sites for Learning tent at the fairgrounds. The cast of the
musical, "Roamin' Ringgold County in 1902," sang a song as part of the presentation of the history of Ringgold county
100 years ago. Two plays -- one was called "Diagonal - A Town to Love" -- were presented by SFL students during the fair
in the special tent the program had for activities for youth.
A Mount Ayr girl brought home two bonze medals from the
Iowa Games held in Ames recently. Megan DOUBLEDAY, daughter of Mike and Christine DOUBLEDAY of Mount Ayr, placed third
in the 100 meter dash and third in the 200 meter dash in the category for seven and eight year olds at the event. She
and her father, Mike, also participated in the family fun run and the opening ceremonies for the event.
