Janelle WALTERS of Beaconsfield was crowned Ringgold county fair queen for 1992 and Stephanie TODD of Maloy was named
county fair princess on the opening night of entertainment at the fair here Thursday night. WALTERS is the
daughter of Rex and Ann WALTERS of Beaconsfield and was crowned by Nicole DENNEY of Mount Ayr, 1991 county fair queen,
and Tara HENDERSON of West Des Moines, 1991 Iowa State Fair queen. First runner-up was P. J. MUNYON, daughter of Terry
and Debbie MUNYON of Kellerton. Second runnger-up was Anige MAIN, daughter of Lyle and Virginia MAIN of Mount Ayr.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith WHITSON of Beaconsfield announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathy, to Kevin BRETZ, son of Carol
BRETZ and the late Marion BRETZ of Des Moines. Kathy is the granddaughter of Chris WALTERS of Mount Ayr.
Mr. and Mrs. Loren STEIMEL of Waterloo announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Michelle Marie,
to Troy Howard SMITH, son of Mrs. Dennis SHAW of Kalispell, MT, and the late Don SMITH.
Mike ALLEY of Mount Ayr wishes to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of his son, David Lee, to Kellie Nicole
CHRISTY, daughter of Gary and Gloria CHRISTY of Humphreys, MO.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank POLLOCK of Mount Ayr and Mr. and Mrs. Chris PLYMESSER of Greenfield announce the engagement of their
son and daughter, Donald Ray POLLOCK and Kimberly Ann PLYMESSER.
Ellen and Jake POWELL, Kathy WITTMAN and Vicki PRENTIS wish to announce the 50th wedding anniversary of their parents,
Dick and Marj PRENTIS. The couple was married August 2, 1942 at Calvary Baptist Church in Washington, D.C.
An open house is set to honor Lowell and Maxine SCHAEFER on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. All friends
and relatives are invited to come to the event at the couple's farm home four miles south and one mile east of Diagonal.
The children of Lowell and Maxine will hold the festivities with a barbecue from 4 p.m. until dark on
Saturday, August 1.
Debbie SMITH of Beaconsfield and Dana WEEDA of Tingley were named the Ringgold county representatives to the Iowa
State Fair in the clothing selection and fashion revue program Sunday evening. SMITH will be the representative
for her clothing selection and WEEDA for her fashion revue.
