Jamie, Jody and Jill DENNEY dressed as hillbillies and rode in a pony cart to capture first prize in the kids' parade
portion of the Frontier Days celebration at Redding Saturday. Hot weather didn't slow down the activities at the
annual Redding Frontier Days Saturday and Sunday. Good crowds were onhand both days for the festivities, which included
a parade, contests, mule jumping, mud drag, mini-tractor pull and greased pig contest among other things.
Three 4-H members will represent Ringgold county at state fair clothing activities in August. They were selected at
the 4-H Fashion revue and clothing selection program Thursday, July 9, in Mount Ayr. Valerie KLEJCH of Diagonal was
named county fashion revue winner. Lori SOBOTKA, Diagonal, and Leann GREEN of Ellston were picked for the Saint
Joseph Fashion Revue. Miss SOBOTKA is also the state fair alternate, in case Miss KLEJCH cannnot attend.
Mr. Denny SOBOTKA has completed his medical residency in Albuquerque, NM and on July 6 will begin a two-year
fellowship in gastroenterology with the Omaha, NE Medical Center. Dr. SOBOTKA is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard
SOBOTKA of Diagonal.
