Ringgold county's new engineer started working Tuesday
and was greeted by the board of supervisors. Dan COULSON is originally from Caledonia and has been an engineer out
of West Saint Paul, MN for the last 30 years. COULSON met with supervisors Ethel CAMPBELL, Lloyd BEDIER and Royce
DREDGE.
Julie WASKE of Kellerton has been awarded two honors at AIB College of Business in Des Moines. WASKE was
honored as a presidential scholar for the summer quarter at the college. WASKE was also awarded the Arne Hard
recognition award from the college. Recipients of the award are selected on the basis of academic success,
attendance, business attitude, appearance and college and community activities. WASKE is majoring in business
administration- sales and marketing at the college. She is a 2000 graduate of Mount Ayr Community high school.
The 11th annual
Mount Ayr Community Band Boosters turkey dinner was a big success Sunday, Nov. 4. According to chairperson Kim
NIEMAN, over 550 plates were served in the event at the Mount Ayr Community high school commons. Band members
pre-sold 386 tickets, 198 more than had been done last year.
