Dedication of the new Mount Ayr Community High School football field will take place Friday night at the home opener with Villisca. A big crowd is expected to be on hand for the first game on the new facility. At a special half-time ceremony, Bill SMITH, president of the school board, and Joe McNEILL, longtime Raider grid coach, will speak.

Incumbent members of the board of trustees of the Mount Ayr Public Library were re-elected. They are Dr. Duane E. MITCHELL, president; Mrs. Maurice CARR, vice-president; Royce DAVIS, treasurer; and Mrs. Franklin SPURRIER, secretary.

Mark RINEHART passed his CPA examination.

Mr. and Mrs. Clifford FORCE of Mount Ayr announce the engagement of their daughter, Glenys, to John ESSEX, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arlo ESSEX of Independence, MO.

Three Ringgold county residents are among those who received degrees at Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville at the end of the summer session. Receiving bachelor of science degrees were Cheri KEENAN of Maloy, Charles KNAPP and Robert SCHAFER, Jr., both of Mount Ayr.

  • September 06, a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Glee MOBLEY, Benton
  • September 07, a son to Mr. and Mrs. Larry ECKART, Sheridan MO
