The annual F.F.A. pie and box supper held Tuesday evening in the high school auditorium was successful with approximately
200 people in attendance and 79 boxes and pies registered for sale. Following the sale of boxes, round and square dancing
were enjoyed. Music was furnished by Dell and Vern BANNER and Gene and Vance MONDY, and callers were Guy SHELDEN and Murray
BUTLER. Raymond HUTCHINSON served as auctioneer and Jack HUTCHISON as ringman.
Electronically minded Charles RAUCH, age 19, of Mount Ayr, has made the effective use of electricity pay off. State winner
in the 4-H Farm and Home Electric program, this yung electrician has been awarded a trip to the National 4-H Congress in
Chicago, IL.
E. WATSON of Diagonal has accepted the appointment to the Ringgold county hospital board of trustees. WATSON declined to
serve upon appointment but later reconsidered. He is cashier of the First State Bank of Diagonal.
Student Ayr -- The Mount Ayr Raiders football team climaxed a very successful season with a 31 to 0 win Wednewday
night over the Leon Cardinals at Leon. Leland DOLECHECK led the Raiders with a pair of touchdowns. For the season the
team had seven wins and one loss.
Maloy -- The Town and Country Club is sponsoring a card party Nov. 21 in the school gym. The community is invited
to attend. Admission is $1 per family or 50-cents for an individual. Refreshments will be served.
