A portion of astronaut Peggy WHITSON'S time in space aboard the International Space Station is working with scientific
experiments. While Dr. WHITSON is a fully qualified biochemist, in space she's acting more like a laboratory technician,
operating and maintaining experiments for the many scientists on the ground. Appropriately for a native Iowan one of her
key experimentsis growing soybean plants.
