News Announcement

Hiram Westbrook, father of Lee and Abraham, was found dead in his bed yesterday morning at the home of his son Abraham just west of town. He had retired in the evening in his usual health, but when his son called him for breakfast in the morning he received no answer and on going to the bed he discovered him cold in death. Mr. Westbrook was an old resident of Newton and Jasper county and highly respected by all who knew him. He was 84 years and 9 months old.
