Passed Away At His Home in Mitchellville
Last Evening -- Former Resident of Jasper
County.
William Trimble, 80 years old, a pioneer of Jasper
county, died at his home in Mitchellville last evening at 5
o'clock after an illness of but a few days from pneumonia
which followed an attack of influenza.
Mr. Trimble made Jasper county his home for more than a
half century and only of late has he made his home in
Mitchellville. Prior to moving there he and his family lived
on a farm in the neighborhood of Metz.
Mr. Trimble was a devoted Christian and was prominent in
the betterment of the community and especially was he
interested in the progressive movements of the Iowa farmers
in their fight for better conditions in the rural
districts.
Mrs. Trimble, his widow, is now seriously is suffering
from la grippe. She is 75 years old and friends fear that
she is in a critical condition.
Besides his widow Mr. Trimble leaves three sons, Charles
of north of Newton; Fred of Minnesota; and Andrew of
Mitchellville. Three daughters preceded him in death. They
were Mrs. Hattie Benskin, Mrs. William Gist and Frankie
Trimble. He also leaves a number of grandchildren and other

MRS. TRIMBLE DIES SATURDAY
Passes Away Just One Week Following
Death of Her Husband --
Funeral to be Tomorrow.

Mitchellville, Ia. March 19--Mrs. William Trimble
died here last Saturday afternoon, making her death just
seven days after the death of her husband.
She had been seriously ill with la grippe and pneumonia
for a couple of weeks and after the death of Mr. Trimble
very little hope was entertained for her recovery.
The Trimble family moved here from the Metz neighborhood
only recently, Jasper county having been their place of
residence for the past half of century.
Mrs. Trimble was 75 years old and her husband who
preceded her in death a week ago was 80 years of age.
She leaves three sons, Charles of north of Newton; Fred
of Minnesota, and Andrew of Mitchellville. Three daughters
preceded her in death. They were Mrs. Hattie Benskin, Mrs.
William Gist and Miss Frankie Trimble.
Funeral services will be held in the Metz church at 1
o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Burial will be made in the Metz

Mrs. Trimble, 80, Rites Thursday
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Moffitt
Funeral Home at Mitchellville for Mrs. Fred Trimble, 80. She
died Sunday evening at a nursing home at altoona. Burial
will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery near Newton.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mamie Hopkins of
Des Moines, Mrs. Eva Pritchard of Ankeny and Mrs. Mabel
Rader of Los Angeles, Cal.; two sons, Lester of Downey,
Cal., and Don of Des Moines, three grandchildren, two

Services Monday For Fred Trimble
Funeral services for Fred Trimble, 80, of Downey, Calif.,
a former Jasper county and Mitchellville resident, will be
held at 2 pm Monday at the Moffitt funeral home in
Mitchellville. Burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery in the
Metz community southwest of Newton.
Mr. Trimble is survived by his wife, three daughters,
Mrs. Elmer (Evy) Pritchard of Bondurant, Mrs. Mamie Hopkins
of Des Moines and Mrs. Robert (Mabel) Rader of California;
and two sons, Lester of California and Don of Des Moines.
Mrs. James Engle of Newton is a sister-in-law.
Mr. Trimble, who has resided in California for
approximately six years, died Wednesday at Downey. Mr.
Trimble farmed south of Newton for several years and in the
Mitchellville area. He was also a carpenter. ~ Newton Daily
