Carl Coffey, Loring Miller, Lee Doolittle, Don Bacon, Dennis Showers and a few others brewed up a batch of sorghum at the fairgrounds north of Leon. The members of the historical society used the large cane press purchased from a man near the Missouri River.

Chet Redman received the annual Outstanding Citizen Award from the Leon Chamber of Commerce. Gene Stewart presented the award.

The Central Decatur Drama Department presented “Hello Dolly.”
