The following researchers are willing to share information on regiments, battles and other war related material:

Carl Ingwalson has compiled biographies for many of the 21st Iowa Infantry soldiers of Clayton County, he has more soldier bios to add, and information beyond what is being presented.  Clayton County soldiers' information is on the Clayton County website and is listed according to surname.  He plans to compile bios for Dubuque and Delaware counties in the future.

Jan Arends actively researches the 33rd Iowa Infantry and has given presentations on the role the 33rd played during the Civil War.  She has found diaries from men of the regiment and is working on transcribing them.  She has become acquainted with some descendants of men from Company G, and is anxious to correspond with other descendant's of the 33rd.  She is also a member of the Cedar Valley Civil War Roundtable.

Allen Welsh has been researching the 5th Iowa Inf. since 1988 and have accumulated a great deal of material.  He is Interested in corresponding with anyone interested in the 5th Iowa.  

Jon B. E. Hittle has collected historical / biographical data on soldiers of the 36th Iowa Infantry Regiment for more than 30 years.  He is seeking descendants of or further information on soldiers who served in thes regiment, including genealogy information, personal diaries, soldier letters and photographs of soldiers.  He is particularly interested in locating the descendants of Captain Stephen K. Mahon, Adjutant of this regiment, born Ireland, resident of Ottumwa at time of enlistment for addition biographic data.

Shearer, Silas Igo, PVT, 23rd Iowa Infantry, Co K.  I am a descendant of Silas Igo Shearer who served in the 23rd. He was from Rhodes Iowa (near Collins). His letters have been published as “Dear Companion” by my mother’s cousin (Harold Brinkman). I have and will be doing research on all of the Shearers involvement during the Civil War. Silas lost two brothers in battle, lost his uncle and brother in law to disease, and had three other brothers captured (all were in Andersonville but survived). Edward will correspond with other's researching Silas and his family.  Born: 1/11/1838 in Marion Co.
