Henry was the father of Lydia L. (Harshbarger) Wingerson. Lydia was the mother of Elma (Wingerson) Mack of Rockwell City, Iowa. Elma's daughter, Bernadine (Rench) Carpenter is the mother of the Submitter.

Dr. McVay of the same regiment was his brother-in-law, they were imprisoned together in Tyler, Texas Confederate Prison Camp.

There was a John Harshbarger, killed at Marks Mills, who was a brother to Henry.
