The lady Miss Maggie Orr, formerly of Columbina Co. Ohio, a niece of Mrs. Peter Smith of this city, who some years ago married Mr. John Powers, a stockman of Topeka, Kansas, died at her home in that city on Monday, July 24, 1899, aged about 42 years. She leaves her husband, and one daughter Cecil about 9 years of age, who with her mother was here visiting Mrs. Smith several weeks last fall. Her many friends in this section join with Mrs. Smith in mourning the death of Mrs. Maggie Powers.
