Not sure if you know or not, but Whitbeck is also Witbeck. Your family used both spellings. I am working for a gal that decends through your family. Her GRANDFATHER is Clarence Whitbeck of 1871. HE married Mary Kessler. His father is Charles Henry Whitbeck and his wife Anna Maria Cramer. You can see the family in the 1880 census of Lewis, Pottawattamie, Iowa.(WITBECK) I am not sure why you think he would have been a bigamist, my research did not show that, but you have to use Witbeck and not Whitbeck to use the 1880 census. They switched back and forth a lot with the spelling of the surname. This Clarence of 1871 had a son also named Clarence, that was her father... So she has a lot of personal info down to Charles Henry Whitbeck of 1851 .... I have extened the name back further for her. If you want to get in touch with her, drop me an e mail and I will send you her address..she does not have an e mail address. She is also older, but very alert. She is currently trying to find any of her lines that can get her into the Dar or Sar of the Revolutionary War. Lance
