Yeah, we chatted. You were going to send me the address of a lady researching Whitbecks. I found Clarence Whitbeck in 1870 Fort Dodge, IA, son of SW and Elizabeth. By 1880, he is Clarence WITHBACK, and his momma has become Mrs George SMITH...a lovely name to trace. I recently located a descendent of a brother, Asa or Gilbert or AG!

The SW may have been a mistake on the part of the census taker. Clarence's death certificate says his father's name was Frank.

Would love to follow up.
