Wilma, again I am grateful for your help. I had just wondered about the spellings of Van Oort/Van Oordt because I found the odd spelling two years ago (?) accidently. Someone else trying to find Van Oort may not be aware of the two spellings.
Your efforts have given me the realization that Johannes has no grave marker; since he died in Orange City and his son was buried there (later Jennie),I felt he would be buried with them. Jennie evidently had financial problems--maybe no marker was made. It saddens me when I run into that. I just had to try to make certain.
Yes, I do have their obits. Thanks for asking. Please do not burden yourself about Jennie's family; I may do that much later, but right now I am swamped!!!! (Thanks for giving me Jennie's birth month--I only had the year.
I sent you pictures a couple of years of the Van Oort family of mine--I didn't know how they were to be sent at that time. Sorry about that. I was so excited about what I had learned on your site, that I had to share with someone!
