I am a volunteer with PCHGS here in Montezuma, and we are only open on Monday, Thursday and Saturday for research. I looked at older land atlas books today and did not locate where Joseph owned land. I did find the land that his mother owned in Madison township in 1897. For the location of Josephs land, it would take a search in the land indexes at the Recorders' Office in the courthouse.
