I looked in the guardianship records at the Jefferson county courthouse this morning that has those records that are known of compiled in a bound listing. I didn't find anything for a William Clark.

Not knowing who his biological parents are (you didn't provide their names) I can't look for any probate records that might be relevant. If you can provide their names, perhaps more information can be found.
