Verda,
I have searched for the John and Hester/Ester Young family on the 1850 census and have not found them anywhere in the United States. I have looked for John, Hester, and Henry, and nothing that is even close to be able to say "This might be them". John Young likely died in Iowa or Missouri between 1860 and 1870.
I have searched the marriage records that are available online for Iowa and Ohio, and no John Young listed. It seems like this family appeared in Jefferson County Iowa in 1852, but not sure if William Clark was with them from 1852-1855, but William shows in the 1856 state census.
I am hoping someday to poke a hole in this brick wall!
Thanks,
Charlotte
