Rene', I was born & raised in De Witt, Clinton county which is about 15-20 miles south of Maquoketa in Jackson co. (Currently live in the San Antonio area in Texas) I still have family back there and go up every June so I'll just miss you. You might want to try to schedule a trip to the Jackson co. Museum & Historical Society which is located at the fairgrounds in Maquoketa. They have a lot of data that may be of interest to you. There are a lot of variations in census records. Surnames, ages & nativities can often change on different census years. I too, believe this is your family but it's your project and you are the one who has to be convinced. I didn't look for the family on later records. No reason to pursue it further until I found out what you thought. If you wish, I will search further to see what I can find. Whatever, I do wish you success in your enormous project. Dick
