My grandfather's sister, Sophia Sievert married Friederich Ihde from Buffalo Feb 11 1851. Their first son was Johann Friederich Ihde born Dec 8, 1851. I have not located other children.
The Sievert's (or Siefert, Sefert)were from Mecklenberg-Schwerin so it would not surprise me if Ihde was from there as well. The Sieverts arrived in the Buffalo area in 1850 via New York, Hudson River and the Erie Canal. The Sieverts went on to China Twp Michigan to farm with one brother Louis (my great grandfather) going to Toronto Canada as a tobacco store owner, cigar manufacturer. The Ihde's stayed in Buffalo apparently.
There are transcribed records online from St. Peters Evangelical Church and from Concordia Cemetery in Buffalo but the transcriber had problems figuring out the word Ihde so it shows up as ??? or Thde. (information follows)
Let me know if anyone makes a connection.
