Sharyl,
Thank you for your response. The 1851 Jeremiah Gould & wife sale was to Curtis, Lura, Henry, & Eliza Williamson. The Williamsons do not appear in the 1852 census. However there is a John Williamson listed about 27 households away from Jeremiah Gould in 1852. John has 3 males & 4 females in the house. Perhaps the buyers of Jeremiah Gould's land lived in John's home.
By 1856 J. [John] Williamson's household in Boardman Township, includes about 11 people including the buyers of Jeremiah Gould's land. The Williamson's don't appear with Jeremiah's known neighbors. In summary the 1852 census does not prove that Jeremiah's buyers were excluded from the census. It only appears that the Williamsons were not living on the land they purchased from the Goulds until sometime after the 1852 enumeration date.
My opinion is that the Goulds were not living on the land after sometime in May 1852 and perhaps were not there anytime after after 14 April 1851. I believe the reason they were included in the 1852 is your reasons 2 or 3.
