Funeral services were held for Harold B. Nading, 64, in Riverside, Calif., Friday, Oct. 17, 1986, at 9:45 a.m. in St. Thomas Catholic Church with burial in Riverside National Cemetery.

Harold Nading was born January 31, 1922, at Littleport Iowa, and died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1986, at Riverside, Calif. He was the son of Merritt and Martha (Reick) Nading and was educated in rural schools and Littleport High school. Later he attended Upper Iowa University at Fayette and the University of Colorado at Greeley, Colo.

He taught the rural school, Greeley High School and Littleport High School. He was superintendent at Littleport School and Principal of St. Olaf and Elkport. He taught Indian schools in New Mexico and Arizona and was Principal of Sherman High School in Riverside, Calif. He retired as Principal of the Indian High School, the only Federal Indian boarding school in California, in 1975 after suffering two heart attacks that year.

Mr. Nading was a member of the armed services, having served in the Navy and Marines in World War II. He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, Arlington Post No. 9223, the American Legion Post No. 394 and the Disabled American Veterans.

He was united in marriage to Helen Zapf, September 19, 1945.

Survivors include his wife Helen; three sons, Dennis of Edmonds, Wash.; John and Brian of Riverside; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Meri) Roonand and Lori of Riverside; five grandchildren; one brother Kenneth Nading, Mederville.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and one brother.
