Suicide near Monona.
Monona, Iowa., Sept. 18.—A young man by the name of Amil Eiffert, living with his widowed mother two and a half miles east of town, at an early hour this morning committed suicide by sending a bullet through his head from a revolver while lying in bed. The young man, as far as is known, had no occasion to commit this awful deed. He was the owner of a fine farm, with good prospects in the future.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows his name as Emil and that he was born May 31, 1868 and died September 20, 1897. He is buried in the Giard Cemetery.
