Just came across this and noticed I am related to Zachary Taylor Rupe (my great grandfather).
He married Elizabeth Smith (Pharnee?) who was born in Appanoose County, Iowa May 24, 1857, died c. 1937-1940. She was killed by the Interurban train that ran between Centerville and Mystic when she was on the track on a bridge and the motorman was in the back not paying attention.
Their children were Roy Rupe (Mystic Iowa), Rett Rupe (South Dakota?), Eliza Rupe (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) and my grandmother, Kitty Evelyn Rupe (b. April 6, 1893, in Mystic, d. July 8, 1980 in Centerville).My mother was one of fourteen children, with my grandfather, Ray Marshall, being a coal miner and farmer in Mystic, Iowa. Hope this information helps!
