Coal Mines near Exline, Ia

I would like to know the name and location of underground coal mine near Exline, Appanoose Co., Iowa between 1905 and 1915, where my grandfather, Frank Edgar Monroe, began his mining career. In 1916 he came to Hibbing, MN to work in the Oliver Iron Mines. He was the son of William Boyd Monroe who farmed to the Northwest of Exline. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
