Second Annual Meeting of the Monona Cemetery Association
The second annual meeting of the Monona Cemetery Association was held at the Opera House Tuesday evening. There was not a large attendance; somehow there is a lagging of interest in the Cemetery improvement which is to be regretted, since so much remains to be done in the completion of the good work. Following a discussion it was deemed advisable that the Association be incorporated under the laws of Iowa, and the articles of incorporation having been read, were unanimously adopted and signed. The officers elected for the year were:
President - John Killen
Vice Pres. - Mrs. Emma Rupp
Secretary - Geo. H. Otis
Treasurer - Mrs. Martha Gregg

Isaac Cunningham was elected a member of the executive committee, and President Killen appointed the following Finance committee: Mrs. A.M. Fair, Mrs. Jennie Wellman, Mrs. A.N.M. Olmsted, F.L. Wellman and J.Q. Rupp.

The thanks for the Association was tendered the W.R.C., the town council and trustees of the township for their liberal donations to the improvement fund, and to Wellman & Son for the free use of Opera House for annual meetings.

Notice! Monona Cemetery Association
To those who have friends buried in the Monona cemetery. In looking over the books of the Monona Cemetery Association we find a great many who have not paid their annual dues. We have made the dues but $1 per year, which is very low for taking care of the graves of your departed loved ones. The work cannot be done without money and if we all would contribute the small amount asked by the association they could continue the good work. Our cemetery is a credit to our town and not only that, we who are living, owe it to our departed loved ones to take good care of their graves, so that when it comes our turn to pass away (which is only a question of very short time) that those who survive us will say he contributed his share for the care of the graves of those who had gone before, and we will now see that his grave is well cared for.

The Monona cemetery receives the praise and compliments of every one who visits it, and we believe there is not a family in this locality that would want our beautiful cemetery to again assume the same appearance that it was in when our association took hold of the work.
Respectfully Yours,
John Killen, President of the Association
