It should be fairly simple to get quite a bit of information on him. He ran a grocery store in Eldon for many years and was quite well known and very highly thought of. As a matter of fact, when I was at the genealogy library yesterday, I happened to talk to a lady from Eldon who knew him. She remembered his death and how badly the town felt. She also remembered going into his store on her way home from school. Seemed that a lot of the kids did that to buy candy, etc.

The death certificate lists his name as Claude Steven Starr. His marriage certificate lists his name as Claude Haefel Starr. So there appears to be a great deal of confusion over his name. He married Audrey Sapp. The Sapp family is quite large.

Will get as much to you as I can find but it may take a week or so. Our genealogy library is only open on Friday and Saturday.
