Caldwell family from OH, IN to IA

In 1833 six brothers accompanied their recently widowed mother from Ross Co., OH to Noble Co, IN where they lived for some years. In the late 1840's, two of the brothers, David and James Caldwell (probably with their families) came to Wapello Co., IA. I believe that James was born ca 1813 in Ross Co., OH, and that he married Elizabeth Shepard (probably in IN). I also believe that one of their daughters married a man named DAUGHERTY since two of their grandchildren by that name were living in thier household in Lee Co. at the time of the 1880 census. However, I have not been able to locate any further information for thier lives in Wapello Co.
A few years ago we were given a copy of a 1907 family history written by one of James nephews, (a retired judge from MO). I have been attempting to verify the history as well as locate descendants. I would appreciate assistance you might be able to provide and I would be happy to share all information we have collected so far. Thank you.
