I would like to hear from descendants of Enoch REED/READE, born ca 1785 in North Carolina, possibly son of Arthur REED and Martha SPINKS. He married Ruth COX, daughter of Samuel COX and Lydia HADLEY. Samuel COX and his family, including the REEDS, went to Chillicothe, Ross Co. OH, where Samuel died. Enoch stayed in OH for a while then left Jackson County OH for Marion Co. IN. From there, he went to Jones Co. IA in 1852. The children of Enoch and Ruth Reed were: William A REED, born ca 1826, married to Deborah Delilah ROBERTS in Marion Co. IN; Samuel C. REED born 9 Feb 1812 in Ohio, married 22 June 1837 to Sarah Jane LEAR in Marion Co. IN, and died 22 Jan 1888 in Jones Co. IA; Lewis REED, married 22 May 1847 to Jane ABRAM(S) in Marion CO. IN; Solomon C. REED, married Elizabeth Jane GUTHERIE 14 May 1854 (and Elizabeth PATTY 6 June 1859)in Marion Co. IN; Lydia REED, married to [ ]DAVIS; Ruth REED, married to Allen JENNINGS 31 July 1850 in Marion Co. IN; Sarah REED, married to [ ] RODEBAUGH; Mary REED married to James WALDRON; Martha REED, married to John JONES; and Enoch REED Jr., married to Ruth HUME 15 October 1834 in Marion Co. IN.
