Tompkins Connections to Jones Co.

TOMPKINS, SLACK, WARREN, BRIGGS

Hi,

I'm trying to find my TOMPKINS ancestors and I know that my gggrandmother Loretta(Hannah) SLACK TOMPKINS married Cyrus P. BRIGGS in about 1868 in Jones Co. Her husband Jeremiah TOMPKINS deserted in the Civil War in 1863 and I can't find a trace of them after that until she shows up in Jones Co. Unknown if she fled NY with her husband Jeremiah after his desertion or if she came without him.
She had children Loren, Lora and Florence TOMPKINS with her in Iowa. I found lots of Delaware Co., Warrens in the census in your county by 1870.
Loretta has some connection with the Warren families. I found her in the household of Peter Warren in 1850 and 1860 in Andes,Delaware Co., NY.She may be a grand-daughter of Peter.
By any chance do any of you have a connection? Thanks for your time. Judy
