My father's cousin was Anton August Ohrt, b:24 Dec 1871 at Pellworm Island, Schleswig. Came to America 4 April 1887 (with cousins - Ipsens).
Married (1) Cathrina Rief 2 Oct 1894; she died 9 Febr 1899.
Married Maria Domann 26 Jan 1901. Father Carl Dormann; witnesses Paul Dormann; Maria Anderson.
Maria died Sept 8, 1916.

I met their grandson Gerry Ohrt at Clinton. Gerry died 31 July 2000; his widow resides in Clinton.

So many spellings of Dormann!
Also note that Emma married Martin Henningsen of Beaver Island. Anton's uncle Julius Ohrt family also lived there - all recorded in Kathy Flippo's book "Back to Beaver Island." Allen
