Ole E. Olson, the son of Tov H. Olson and Sigri Mork Olson, was born April 21, 1879, at the old Mork place near Elgin, and died at the Postville hospital on Monday night, August 08, 1955. He reached the age of 76 years, 3 months and 17 days. He was baptized and confirmed in the Marion Lutheran church at Gunder.
When he was twelve years old, his parents moved to the place where he now lived. On December 23, 1916, he was united in marriage to Margit Landsgaard. To this union was born five children, Telmar of Monona, Mrs. Lorando (Selina) Embretson of St. Olaf, Olvin of Gunder, Harry of Green Bay, Wis., and Milton of Postville.
He farmed the old parsonage for 36 years until a heart attack in 1945 forced him to retire from farming.
Survivors include: his widow, five children, twelve grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the house at 1:30 p.m. and at the Marion Lutheran church at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, with the Rev. S. J. Strandjord officiating. Burial was in the Marion cemetery. Pallbearers were: Albert Gulsvig, Enoch K. Mork, George Landsgard, Otto Mork, Gunnar Landsgaard and Arvid Anderson.
