Alma Tieden, the daughter of Jans Tieden and wife Anna nee Bowman was born in Cox Creek township, Clayton County, Iowa, on April 08, 1879, and died at Independence, Iowa, July 06, 1955, at the age of seventy-six years, two months and eight days. Alma received her education in the rural school. For the past twenty years she was a patient at the Clayton County Home and for the past two months a patient at the state hospital at Independence, Iowa.
The following brothers and a sister survive her: Jansey Tieden of Puyallup, Wash., George and Lewis Tieden of Elkader, and Mrs. Ann Lehfeld of Big Sandy, Mont. Her parents, two brothers, Mike and Frank, and four sisters, Mary, Martha, Tillie and Juliette preceded her in death.
Funeral services were conducted from the Witt funeral home Friday at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Burial was in the East Side cemetery.
