Funeral services for Hugo J. Harberg, 70, who died Sunday May 15, at a Prairie du Chien hospital after a short illness, were held at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, from the Schultz funeral home and at 2:00 p.m. from St. Paul's Lutheran church. The Rev. R. C. Schlueter officiated. Burial was in the Garnavillo cemetery.

Mr. Harberg was born Feb. 28, 1885 at Omaha, Nebr., son of Louis and Margaret (Thoma) Harberg. His early life was spent at Garnavillo and Guttenberg. He worked as a brakeman on the Milwaukee railroad and later farmed. On Nov. 27, 1912, he was married to Amanda Rohwedder at Dubuque. He had resided in Monona since 1952.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Steve Parker, his son-in-law, Steve Parker, and two grandchildren, all of Monona.
