MARY DAVIS
Mary Louise Davis, 70, Spirit Lake, died Monday, March 6, 1989, at the Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Valley, after a short illness. Services were 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 1989, at the Turner Funeral Home, Spirit Lake. Rev. James Quitno officiated. Music was provided by Mary Lou Ayres, organist, and Ann Bass, soloist. She sang “For Those Tears I’ve Died,” and “How Great Thou Art.”
Mrs. Davis was born Jan. 21, 1919, at Elkader, the daughter of Lars and Mary (Lembke) Hulverson. After graduating from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, she taught high school business classes at Sibley and Spirit Lake. She retired in 1982. She also worked in the business office of the Iowa Great Lakes Chamber of Commerce in the summer.
She married Liburne [sic] Davis June 21, 1957, at Lakefield, Minn. He died Jan. 4, 1971.
She had no surviving relatives.
Burial was 11 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 1989, in West Lawn Cemetery, Glidden, Rev. Erland Asmus officiated at the graveside rites.
