Mrs. Mary Hulverson, the daughter of Franz and Louise Lemke, was born Feb. 18, 1884, in Elkader, Iowa, and died at her home here Tuesday night, May 31, 1955, after a two weeks' illness of a heart ailment. Mrs. Hulverson lived her entire lifetime in Clayton county and most of that time in Elkader. She received her education in the Elkader public school.

In 1917, she was united in marriage to Lars L. Hulverson. She and her husband, the late Lars Hulverson were the stewards at the Clayton county asylum for a number of years. Mr. Hulverson died in 1924.

Mrs. Hulverson was a member of Peace Evangelical an Reformed church and the Women's Guild, which she served as an officer at one time. She also was a member of the Royal Neighbors.

Mrs. Hulverson is survived by one daughter, Mary, who is the head of the commercial department in the high school at Spirit Lake. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, John of Monona, George of Elkader, Mrs. Margaret Lamker of Monona, and Mrs. Emma Durocher of Poulshe, Wash.

Services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Witt funeral home. Burial was at the East Side cemetery with the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating.
