Charles Wm. Reichart was born Jan. 12, 1881, at Littleport, and died March 02, 1955, at the home of his son Harley in Elkader, from a heart attack. Mr. Reichart had been ill for the past two months.

On Feb. 10, 1903, Mr. Reichart was united in marriage to Anna Backhaus at Garnavillo. Mrs. Reichart preceded her husband in death in 1950. He then made his home with his daughter Eileen near Garnavillo, until last September, when he came to live with his son Harley in Elkader.

He is survived by two sons, Harley of Elkader, and Milton of Balltown, and one daughter, Mrs. Arnie Cords of Garnavillo, also eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Hope Lutheran church at Littleport on March 05, 1955, with the Rev. Tillmanns officiating. Burial was in the Union cemetery.

Pallbearers were: George Chettinger, Clarence Kuehl, Louis Winch, Roy Ruegnitz, Wm. (Bill) Refle and Jack Leonard.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: Wm. Reichart, Rock Island, Ill.: Mrs. Gusta Romis and Mrs. Clara Neumeister, Dubuque; Joe Kenefic, Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. Morrie Miller, Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Miller, Clear Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Johanningmeier, Monona; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Pufahl and Ardell, Garnavillo; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Backhaus, Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Backhaus and Max Meyer, Garnavillo; and Wm. Koehn, Oak Park, Ill.
