DIED - in this city on the 8th Inst., after a brief illness of inflammation of the Lungs, Mary Christina, eldest daughter of James H. and Cynthia M. Glass. Aged 17 years and nine months.
The deceased was possessed in an eminent degree of a most sweet, patient, and lovely nature to which was added many christian graces, convinced all with whom she associated that MARY had indeed "chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."

The funeral services of Miss Glass, deceased, at the Congregational Church Sunday a.m., were attended by a large audience, despite the lowering condition of the weather. Miss G. possessed the Christian graces to a large degree, was a professor of religion, and was worthy exemplar of the faith she espoused. It seems sad that one who gave such promise of a life of activity and usefulness should be thus quickly cut down, at the very threshold of her womanhood.~Weekly North Iowa Times, Wednesday, May 13 , 1863; pg 2
Note: she most likely is buried in Pleasant Grove cemetery with her mother who died just days later, although neither burial has been verified in that cemetery by the contributor.
