DIED - At her father's residence, town of Mendon, on the 5th inst., of Scarlet Fever, Mary, daughter of James and Lucinda Hannah Shepherd, aged 3 years, 5 months, and 15 days.

"Farwell, my darling Mary,
The Lord has called thee home,
In that bright and heavenly mansion,
Forever there to roam.

He has called our only darling,
She has gone, at his command,
To join the choir of Angels,
In the happy spirit land.

Oh, Mary, dear, we'll miss thee,
As we would the sun's bright ray,
We'll miss thee in thy cradle-bed,
We'll miss thee at thy play.

No more we'll see that winning smile,
Which lit thy loving eye
And list in vain the foot-steps,
When Mary dear, was nigh.

Then, farewell, my darling little one,
The one our heart did love,
We know that thou art happy
In heavenly realms above.

For truly God hath promised
All this, dear one to thee,
All little ones that suffer,
Forbid them not said HE.
