Funeral services for Mrs. Louis Halvorson were held at the farm residence near St. Olaf at 1:30 o'clock Monday, March 23, and at the Norway Lutheran church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. S. J. Strandjord officiated. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Halvorson died at the McGregor hospital, Wednesday, March 18.
Anna Kirjorden was born in Numedal, Norway, June 12, 1878. She was baptized and confirmed and received her education in Norway. In 1904 at the age of twenty-four years she came to America. She made her home for a short time at the William Carney home at St. Olaf, Iowa. On Jan. 10, 1905 she was united in marriage to Louis Halvorson. He preceded her in death Nov. 29, 1943.
She was a member of the Norway Lutheran church and of the Bergan Ladies Aid of that church.
She is survived by one son, Leslie on the home farm, three grandchildren, Mrs. Art (Luella) Bolland, Dubuque, Iowa; Harriet and Deanna at home. Also two great-grandchildren, William and Judith Ann Bolland, Dubuque; a brother, Thore Kirkjorden, Farmersburg; two sisters in Norway, Rangdi Thor_ and Sigrid Kirkjorden, also a nephew in Norway. Two Nieces, Mrs. Lester (Ella) Butikofer, Farmersburg, Iowa, and Mrs. Ben (Ragna) Butikofer, Elgin, Iowa.
Preceding her in death besides her husband was a son, Harry who died in 19_8 (looks like 1928) at the age of twelve years.
