Masonic funeral services for Chris Brockman of Farmersburg township were held at the Oelke funeral home in Elkader at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 18, 1953. The Rev. J. H. Zerhusen officiated. Burial was in the family lot in the Zion Lutheran cemetery at Clayton Center.
Mr. Brockman, the son of Christian and Moriah Meyer Brockman, was born April 07, 1874, on a farm in Farmersburg township, where he spent his entire life. The last number of years his nephew, George Ehrhardt, lived with him. He had reached the age of 78 years, ten months and eight days at the time of his death. He is the last of his family.
He was a member of the National lodge A.F. & A.M. No. 172 at Farmersburg.
There are no immediate survivors. Two brothers, two sisters and his parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by the following nieces and nephews: George C. Ehrhardt, Farmersburg; Edward _. and Carl P. Ehrhardt, Elkader; Fred J. Ehrhardt, Sac City, Iowa; Elmer H. Ehrhardt, Oelwein; Mrs. Sarah Riordan, Strawberry Point; Mrs. Ray (Pearl) Kerlin, Mason City, Iowa; Glen Riordan, Kansas City, Mo.
Pallbearers were: K. J. Stiehl, Elmer Schmalfeld, John Wahls, Harold and Henry Matt and Harvey Hamann.
