A Strawberry Point farm wife, Mrs. Granville S. Myers, 53, died very suddenly at her home on Wednesday morning, Oct. 30, about 7:40 a.m., as the result of a heart attack. Attendants were just preparing to put her in the ambulance to take her to a hospital when she died. Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 02, at the First Baptist church in Manchester with the Rev. Robert C. Frederich officiating. Burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
Edith DeLancey was born April 27, 1904, at Woonsocket, S.Dak., the daughter of Thomas W. and Nellie Peters DeLancey. She was a member of the Baptist church and graduated from the Manchester high school. On Nov. 09, 1927, she was married to Granville S. Myers at Rapid City, S.Dak. The couple lived in Delaware county, until moving to a farm at the west edge of Strawberry Point ten years ago. Mrs. Myers had apparently been in her usual health until the fatal attack Wednesday morning.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include six children, five grandchildren and five brothers. The children are: Gifford G. Myers, New Lisbon, Wis.; James T. Myers, Portsmouth, Va.; Mrs. Herbert (Barbara) Hahn, Lamont; and Rosalie I., Julia N. and John G., all at home. The brothers are Dorin DeLancey of Coggon, and Harry, Cecil, Donald and Lawrence Delancy, all of Manchester.
