Mrs. Emma Wacker, the daughter of John and Minnie Gaulke, was born May 11, 1873, at Prairie du Chien, Wis., and died at her home in Mederville, Iowa, Friday, Oct. 25, at the age of Eighty-four years, five months and fourteen days.
Mrs. Wacker was not feeling well for four days before her death and consulted a doctor. She died unexpectedly about seven o'clock Friday morning.
Mrs. Wacker received her education in the rural schools in Crawford county, Wis. She came to Mederville as a young girl and seventy years of her life were spent in and near Mederville. She and her husband moved to their home in Mederville in the year 1945.
Mrs. Wacker was united in marriage to Christian Wacker on the Wacker farm near Mederville on August 10, 1896. Mr. and Mrs. Wacker were privileged to celebrate sixty-one years of married life. Mr. Wacker has been a semi-invalid for the past fourteen years. Mrs. Wacker was a member of the Royal Neighbor lodge.
She is survived by her husband, other relatives and friends.
Services were held from the home in Mederville Monday, Oct. 28, at 2:00 p.m. Burial was in the Mederville cemetery, with the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating.
