A requiem high mass was conducted Monday morning at 9:30 at St. Michael's Catholic church at Garber by the Rev. Joseph L. Kissling for Frank Joseph Scheffert, who died quite suddenly Friday evening, Sept. 27, 1957, at his home in Garber, from a heart condition, which he had had for the past several years.

Frank Joseph Scheffert was the son of John and Anna Scheffert, born July 06, 1888, at Garnavillo, where he lived for two years, then with his parents moved to a farm near Garber, where he lived until retiring in 1946, when he moved to Garber.

On May 07, 1913, he was united in marriage to Grace Lau at Elkport.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters, Mamie Zapf and Minnie Winch, one brother, Erwin, one son, Gerald, and one grandson.

Mr. Scheffert was a member of Holy Name society.

Survivors are: his wife, Grace, two sons, Reynold and Donald and six grandchildren.

Burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery at Elkader Monday, Sept. 30, 1957. Pallbearers were: Haldon Reimer, Alvin Berns, Anton Smith, Earl Matt, Elias Hall and Russell Wathen.

Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were: Mrs. Elmer Arnold, Mrs. Daisy Lemke, Mrs. Martha Bredlenner of Klemme, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Al Swanson and daughter, Clear Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon McLaughlin, Belmond; Mrs. Wm. Schubert, Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lau and family, Fayette; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lau, Fort Dodge; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Lau, Waterville; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Berns, Lamont; Mr. and Mrs. Yvo Scheffert, Mr. and Mrs. Lynol Scheffert, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wentz, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Ferguson of Monona, and Mr. and Mrs. Orland Scheffert of Marquette.
